Wine Club Marsanne

The 2019 Marsanne is inspired by the beautiful, albeit almost totally unknown, white wines from the Rhone valley in France. These grapes have adapted well to our climate in West Texas and tend to produce very interesting wines that have the ability to age in the bottle quite well.  The grapes for this blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Viognier were sourced from the One Way Vineyard in Floyd County and the Dell Valley Vineyard in Hudspeth County.  Utilizing traditional winemaking techniques and sur lie aging, we’ve produced a dry wine with a pleasant sweet lime and white flower aromatics and a soft texture.  When aerated well, this wine will show well in its youth, but will really shine with complexity if allowed to mature for a few years in the bottle.  This wine will pair well with rich, but mildly flavored foods such as onion quiche, cream based pasta and risotto, and most squash based soups and dishes.
