Wine Club Right Bank

Overview

The Llano Estacado Wine Club is a perfect venue for us to showcase small, handcrafted batches of wine. Additionally, it affords us the opportunity to recognize the Llano growers whose hard work allows us to make these special lots.

This wine club release was inspired by the wines of the Pomerol region of Bordeaux, France, an area colloquially known throughout the wine world as the “Right Bank.” Through a rich winemaking history and a complex lineage, this region in Southwestern France shined for its prodigious blending of the Merlot grape with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The combined aromatics and flavor created a wine blend enjoyed by peasants and bourgeoisie alike.

This Bordeaux-inspired Merlot draws to the nose aromas of lavender hidden behind multiple layers of dark fruit, mint, and a hint of sarsaparilla root. In our Wine Club Right Bank, the dominant flavors include black cherry, cocoa, and peppercorn spice. This structured wine pairs well with roasted meat and wild game, as well as rustic pasta and fish with tomato sauce.
