Wine Club Viognier “Les Caillerets”

Overview

Viognier is a white wine grape recognized as a noble variety in France where it is primarily grown in the northern Rhone district.  The Viognier grapevine has adapted well to our sun drenched Texas climate producing moderate yields of high quality grapes. The 2019 Viognier “Les Caillerets” (pronounced “lay cal-yo-ray) was grown in the rocky soils of Dell Valley Vineyard in west Texas.  The wine displays aromas of white flowers, peach, subtle vanilla bean, and ripe apricot with a dash of white pepper; this is followed by stone fruit and melon flavors and a rich, broad texture on the palate.

This full bodied Viognier is ready to drink right away and pairs well with roast chicken, buttery white fish, and earthy, rich cheeses like Brie.
